Fender 5-way Selector Switch

Fender has been using the S-1 Switch since the early 2000s. Quite honestly at first I didn’t like it, but, it is a powerful switch and does not distract from the “Look” of the Fender Stratocaster and for that, I’ve grown to like it. The essence of the switch is that it’s a 4P2T switch.

· While having the series/parallel option on a Jazz bass can be very useful (‘though it won’t make a Jazz sound like a Precision), the WAY Fender executed the S-1 switch seemed to be a real problem. It required a proprietary knob and switch set up and it seemed flimsy and hence prone to failure on the ones I played.
