How to make oatmeal cake?

In a large bowl, combine butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup white sugar, eggs, flour, baking soda, spices, and salt. Fold in cooled oatmeal mixture until just combined. Pour batter into pan and bake for 35 minutes. Prepare frosting while cake is baking.
