The Silicone Slow Cooker Liners designed for 6-7 quart crockpots may not be the perfect fit for every kitchen. Upon arrival, these liners are compactly packaged, leading to a temporary misshapen appearance. Though they are notably thick and without handles, they do offer ease of cleaning. However, they may not be ideal for a full 7-quart crockpot, as they can leave a gap around the edges and may not accommodate recipes that fill the pot to the brim.
While these liners are advertised to fit both 6 and 7-quart pots, users should be aware that they might be too small for the latter, especially when preparing large meals or for potlucks. Despite being reusable, BPA-free, and leakproof, they can retain smells from previous dishes, and the initial misshape from shipping might be off-putting. Although they can withstand heat and are dishwasher safe, their size and shape may be limiting, as evidenced by a user’s experience with a chicken taco dip recipe that overflowed.
The durability of the silicone liner is commendable, and it does contribute to a cleaner cooking experience. Yet, when put to the test with a 6.5-quart crockpot filled with water and heated, it retained its warped shape, and a white film was observed during the first use, which could be concerning. This liner might be better suited for smaller portions within a 6-quart cooker, rather than pushing its limits in a 7-quart one.
